Marble in Alexandria — Egyptian and imported
Warm Egyptian beiges and golds, and the whites, blacks and reds that only imported marble brings.
Marble is a natural stone formed from limestone under heat and pressure. It takes a deep polish, shows soft clouds and veins, and no two slabs are the same. Egypt quarries warm beiges, creams, golds and greys in very large volumes; imported marble adds the bright whites, blacks, reds and greens that Egypt does not produce.
Marble is softer than granite and reacts with acids such as lemon and vinegar. That is why it shines on floors, stairs, walls and bathrooms, and needs more care on a busy kitchen countertop.

Marble vs granite vs quartz
Granite is the tough all-rounder, quartz is the easy-care engineered option, and marble is the classic natural look that asks for more care. The right one depends on where the stone goes and how you use it.
Choosing a kitchen countertop
Start with how you cook, then pick the colour and finish. A hard, low-maintenance stone in a shade that hides your daily mess will serve you longer than a slab that only looked good in a photo.
Egyptian vs imported marble
Choose Egyptian stone when you want beige, golden or grey tones that are easy to find again later. Choose imported stone when you need a white, black, blue or dramatic vein that Egyptian quarries do not produce.
