About this stone
Sunny Dark is a deep golden yellow with a mottled surface and thin brown veins. It has much more presence than the lighter Sunny grades. Many homes use it as a border or frame around a lighter Sunny floor, on stair treads, or on a wall that should draw the eye.
Like other Egyptian marbles it is soft enough to cut and shape easily, but it scratches and etches more readily than granite. The darker colour hides everyday dust better than pale stones, though dull acid marks can still show on a polished face. It works best indoors on floors, borders, stairs and walls, not on kitchen countertops.
Care
Mop with a pH-neutral cleaner and dry spills quickly. Seal after fitting and reseal about once a year.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Outdoor & facades
