About this stone
Rosa Portogallo is a pale cream-pink marble with a fine, even grain and the occasional soft sea-green vein crossing it. The colour is a blush rather than a pink, so rooms stay light and warm without looking sweet.
It suits whole floors, bathroom walls and vanities, stairs and window sills, and it works well with brass fittings, light oak and white joinery. Honed or brushed, it feels calm and natural underfoot. The tone shifts from nearly cream to rosier from block to block, so lay out tiles or slabs from one batch before fixing, and remember it will etch under lemon or vinegar.
Care
Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and wipe spills early, especially coloured ones on the pale surface. Reseal once a year in bathrooms.
