About this stone
Silvia Menia is a soft beige crossed by thin, wavy golden-brown lines that run in the same direction, a little like ripples in sand. On stairs and long hallway floors those lines give a gentle sense of movement, and the colour stays steady from piece to piece, which makes large areas look even.
It is a soft marble. It is easy to cut into steps, skirting and sills, but it scratches, and acidic spills leave dull spots on the polish. Heat does not bother it. It is at home on floors, stairs, walls and window sills. For a busy kitchen countertop, a granite or quartz will hold up better.
Care
Mop with water and a neutral stone cleaner, never bleach or descaler. Seal after fitting and reseal about once a year.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Outdoor & facades
