About this stone
Rosso Alicante has a warm coral-to-salmon red ground with faint cloudy shading and thin white veins that wander through it. It is a red many Egyptian homes already know from entrance borders and stair edges, and it reads lively without being dark.
It works well as a border or inlay framing a cream or white floor, on stair treads and skirting, window sills and thresholds, and as a panel or table top. Polished brings out the colour; honed softens it. The white veins are natural lines of weakness, so some slabs carry filled cracks, and like other reds it can lose colour in strong direct sun.
Care
Clean with a pH-neutral stone cleaner and keep lemon, vinegar and strong sprays off it. Reseal about once a year, more often on a tabletop.
