About this stone
A cream to ivory stone with a scattering of small fossil shells and sea-life outlines across the surface, the traces of an ancient sea floor, which is where the name comes from. From a distance it reads as a calm light cream; up close the fossils give it quiet interest.
It suits indoor floors, wall cladding, stairs, window sills and bathroom walls, and it can be used outdoors with a brushed or sandblasted finish. Honed is the usual indoor finish. It is a soft, porous stone: oil, coffee and lemon can mark it, so seal it and keep it away from kitchen countertops.
Care
Seal after installation and renew every year or two. Clean with water and a neutral stone cleaner, and wipe spills quickly.
