About this stone
Verde Tinos is a deep bottle-green stone laced with a fine net of lighter yellow-green veins, so the dark ground never looks flat. It brings a rich, classic mood to a hall floor, a staircase border, a fireplace or a band of cladding, and it pairs well with cream and white marbles in inlay work.
Polished, the dark green deepens and the veins stand out clearly. Green stones like this one can react to water-based cement and bow slightly, so ask your fitter to use a suitable adhesive, usually epoxy based. Keep it out of strong direct sun, where colour can fade, and away from acids that dull the shine.
Care
Clean with a damp cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner, and dry wet areas. Avoid acids and bleach.
Better avoided for
- Outdoor & facades
- Kitchen countertops
