About this stone
Dark Olive is a very dark marble in a brown-charcoal tone with a faint olive cast, marked by a scatter of fine, pale hairline veins. It reads as almost solid from across the room and only shows its lines up close, which makes it a calm choice for skirting, stair borders, thresholds and frames around lighter floors.
It also suits wall cladding in a study or dining room and window sills that should not show dust. Polished, the colour deepens towards black; honed, it turns softer and browner. Dark polished stone shows water marks, scratches and dull etch spots more than light stone does, so it is better kept away from kitchen countertops.
Care
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and a pH-neutral stone cleaner, then dry to avoid water marks. Avoid acids and abrasive pads.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Outdoor & facades
