About this stone

Imperial Grey is a fine-grained grey with a warm, slightly taupe cast, scattered with small pale flecks and short crystalline lines. It gives a modern, calm look that sits well with white walls, black metal and wood, and it takes a high polish. In homes it is used for floors, bathroom walls and vanities, stairs and window sills, and honed or leathered it looks softer and hides marks better.

It polishes well without pitting, but it is still marble: sand scratches a polished floor over time, and lemon, vinegar and acidic cleaners leave dull spots. Heat is not a concern. The honest caveat: grey hides stains at first, yet etch marks show as pale patches in side light, so a busy kitchen countertop is not its place.

Care

Clean with a neutral cleaner and a dry cloth, and keep acidic products away. Seal after installation, and choose honed in bathrooms for better grip.
