About this stone
New Halayeb is a light grey-white granite with large, closely packed black crystals, so the surface shows clear contrast rather than a soft, even speckle. Many Egyptian homeowners ask for it by name for kitchen countertops and stairs, because it gives a bright, clean look that suits white and wood cabinets.
It is hard, takes heat and daily wear, and flamed or tumbled it makes outdoor paving that stays grippy. Being a light stone, it needs sealing on a kitchen countertop: oil, tea or coffee left overnight can leave a shadow. A polished slab also looks darker and busier than flamed tiles, so choose from a sample in the finish you will use.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild soap, and avoid acid or bleach cleaners. Seal before installation and reseal a kitchen countertop every year.
