About this stone
Without light it shows a milky cream ground crossed by wide curved bands of beige and soft taupe, with the odd grey-brown line and a hint of pink. Backlit, the pale zones glow warm and the darker bands become outlines, so the pattern gets stronger.
Its banding tends to stay similar from slab to slab, which helps when a wall needs several panels. It works as a feature wall, bar or reception front, or vanity front. It is soft and reacts to acids, so avoid kitchen counters, floors and outdoor use.
Care
Clean with a pH-neutral stone soap and wipe spills, especially lemon, vinegar and juice, straight away. Reseal on a regular schedule and use coasters and mats, since onyx etches and scratches easily.
Better avoided for
- Kitchen countertops
- Floors
- Stairs
- Outdoor & facades
