About this stone
Gandola is an Aswan granite with a coarse, even speckle: salmon-pink feldspar mixed with black mica and white-grey crystals over a pale grey ground. The pattern has no direction, so joined pieces on a kitchen countertop or a staircase look the same whichever way they are turned.
It is hard, handles heat and daily knocks, and the mixed speckle hides crumbs and water spots well, which is why many families choose it for kitchen countertops and bathroom vanities. The caveat: colour varies between blocks, and some slabs read darker and browner than others. Choose your slab in person, and take all pieces for one kitchen from the same batch.
Care
Wipe with warm water and a mild soap, and avoid acid or bleach cleaners. Reseal a kitchen countertop every one to two years.
