About this stone

White Safaga has a white ground with a close, even speckle of black and grey and the odd faint pink grain. The grain is finer and more regular than Bianco Halayeb, so a countertop, a staircase or a long floor looks like one steady tone from a few steps away.

It is a hard granite that takes daily kitchen use, foot traffic, sun and rain, which makes it a sound choice for kitchen countertops, stairs and floors, as well as window sills and outdoor paving. Flamed or bush-hammered, it gives a grippy surface for entrances and garden paths. As with any light granite, oil and coffee can darken it if the surface is not sealed, so sealing matters most on a kitchen countertop.

Care

Sweep grit off floors and stairs, and mop with plain water or a neutral cleaner. Seal indoor polished surfaces, especially countertops.
